Melanie Cox
President and Chief Cook
Melanie Cox is a broadcast producer with more than 20 years of experience. It all started one day at the fair. The live commentator took suddenly ill and the director picked Mel out of the crowd (assumingly because of her big mouth) and handed her the microphone. Since then she has known no other vocation and enjoyed working in all aspects of production.
She holds a degree in Mass Communications from VCU as well as a Master's Degree in Media Management. After spending five years in educational television she spent ten more at Park Group in Richmond both producing and selling. In the fall of 2001, she hung out her shingle for Spang TV.
Her client credits include Olympus Cameras, Siemens, Walmart, The Virginia Lottery and The Mid Atlantic Sports Network. Her passion is storytelling, with an interest in interviewing real people. She views each project as a personal commitment and personally sees each one to completion.
Jordan Rodericks
Producer
With a background in documentary filmmaking, promotional content creation, internet savvy and an extreme interest in gadgetry, Jordan Rodericks is proud to be part of the SpangTV team. A Capital EMMY Award winning producer and graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, Jordan has been an integral part of various high quality and entertaining productions. From Doha, Qatar to Seattle, Boston to Los Angeles, he has held a camera (and the pre-pro books) while making friends at every stop along the way.
Following a happenstance encounter with Melanie, returning a shotgun (microphone) after a globetrotting excursion, Jordan joined up with Spang and the 9WG crew and hasn't looked back since. Typically, you'll find Jordan behind the screen of a MacBook typing away, thinking about how nice it would be to be hanging out on the beach or on your production, or on your production on the beach.
